Print delivery labels for packaged goods. Shredded paper and styrofoam peanut crinkle wrappers are not acceptable.

Use as few boxes as possible to package your merchandise units.

Protect goods from damage during delivery by adding cushioning materials such as air cushions, full paper, or foam. Repack the box if necessary.

Check the sealed box to verify that the contents will not move during shipping and that the box is strong enough for shipping.

1. Why Does Amazon Have Requirements for Packages?

Packaging should meet safety requirements to protect employees and goods when handling goods. Each product should be packaged for sale as individual units and in different kit quantities.

Packaging Requirements

You may even be charged for non-compliance, and Amazon may refuse, repackage, or return each unit delivered to an Amazon fulfillment center that is non-compliant or improperly packaged at your expense. Follow these general requirements when delivering products to Amazon fulfillment centers. Some commodities have different professional requirements.

- Human readable in appropriate quantities for easy access, each unit shall have a scannable external label or barcode along with a scannable barcode.

- For a mixed inventory, eligible Stickerless, ISBN, 1 UPC, or EAN.

- For sticker stock or 1 FNSKU.

- Each FNSKU you use on the unit should correspond to 1 creative product and should be creative. For very complete categories, such as color or size, there will be another FNSKU.

- Cover or remove scannable barcodes on the outside of cartons and various merchandise. Only barcodes for individual items can be scanned inside the carton.

Note: Units that are reduced under different categories should be prepared according to each applicable preparation type, for example, if you sell as a set such as a conditioner and shampoo bottle, both units need to meet the liquid requirements and also be labeled (sold as a set) so they don't come apart.

2. How Do We Pack Different Types of Goods?

2.1 Loose Products

- Amazon will not accept items that require Amazon to assemble different parts, such as a cart that has separate legs and handles but is sold as 1 piece.

- Shoebox lids should be secured with removable tape or non-adhesive tape. Footwear, regardless of material, should be packaged in a plastic bag or shoe box so that the material is not exposed and a suffocation alarm is issued.

- Items not contained in secure packaging (such as pouches or loose sleeves) will need to be bagged or secured with removable tape or non-adhesive tape.

Each unit as well as book publications in different volumes should be contained in a secure or single package.

2.2 Sold as a Set

Label the unit such as this is a set or (sold in sets). Do not separate.

Units set up as a NASCAR set of 6 Creative Hotwheel cars, sold as a unit, should be marked as a set on their packaging.

2.3 Boxed Units

- There should be an opening or a cover that is not easy to open by itself. If the box opens on its own, it should be secured with tape, staples, or glue.

- Should be 6-sided.

- If the boxed unit has perforations or openings in the sides, the unit should pass a 3-foot drop test with 1 drop on each side and 1 drop on the corner. If the product fails the drop test, it should be placed in a plastic bag with a suffocation warning.

- Should not collapse when moderate pressure is applied to each side.

2.4 Plastic Bag Unit

Plastic bags used to protect goods shall meet the following requirements:

- The warning must be placed or printed in a prominent location and in a font size that matches the size of the bag.

- When required to lay flat, plastic bags with five openings or larger need to have a suffocation warning, either affixed to the bag or printed on the bag itself.

- Example Warning: To ignore the risk of suffocation, please keep this plastic bag away from children and babies. Do not use this bag in a crib, carriage, bed, or playpen. This bag is not a toy.

- Plastic bags should be transparent.

- The thickness of the bag should be at least 1.5 million

- Plastic bags should be completely sealed.

- Polybags should have a barcode such as EAN, UPC, or an X00 label that can be scanned through the polybag, or have an ASIN or X00 label on the outside of the polybag.

- Shrink wrap or poly bags should not protrude more than three times the size of the product.
2.5 Original Packing Items

- All boxes with the same item will contain the same amount of items in each box like a 24-unit box should always contain 24 units.

- All items in one box will have the same condition and SKU and have been previously packed together by the manufacturer.

- When receiving such deliveries, the fulfillment center scans 1 unit from the box and places the box in inventory. There is no need to scan every cell since they all match.

- The number of boxed items per case is limited to 150 pieces.

- In rare cases, the distributor or manufacturer may pack more than 1 original factory-packed item into a larger box called the master carton. The outer box does not qualify as a factory-packed product and should be split at the appropriate factory-packed product level.

2.6 Expired Items

- Products that have expired and are contained in packaging that requires more preparation, such as bottles or glass jars, should be prepared to verify that Amazon employees have access to the expired product during the receiving process.

- Expired items should have the expiration date marked in 36-point font on the master carton and on the individual items. Lot numbers alone are not enough.

- Due Date items should appear in MM-DD-YYYY format. If the shelf life item is printed in another format, it should be labeled with a properly formatted label covering the true shelf life item.

3. Which Categories Require Special Preparation to Protect the Product from Dust or Damage While in the Fulfillment Center or in Transit to the Buyer?

3.1 Liquid

Liquids and products containing liquids can cause damage during shipping and storage. Products containing liquids that do not have a double seal (including viscous products such as honey) should be packaged securely to protect Amazon employees, other products, and customers. Be sure to follow the instructions for glass containers, packaging for different packaged liquids, and volume limits for container types. Kits, bundles, or bundles that contain liquids should also meet these requirements.

3.2 Sharp Objects

Packaging for sharp items shall ensure that sharp or sharp edges are not exposed during inventory, receiving, shipping to customers, or preparation for shipment. Sharp items have sharp or pointed edges that, when exposed, pose a safety hazard to Amazon employees and customers who receive the item.

3.3 Fragile Objects

Fragile items should be packed in 6-sided boxes or fully secured with bubble wrap so that items are not exposed in any way. Fragile items must be packaged properly so that they do not break and pose a safety hazard during shipment preparation, storage or delivery to customers.

3.4 Plush Objects

Items should be placed in shrink wrap or a Ziploc bag. Package plush items such as stuffed toys, puppets, and animals to prevent damage during inventory, receiving, shipping to customers, or preparing for shipment.

3.5 Baby Products

Products not contained in a sealed 6-sided package or with an opening larger than 1" x 1" should be placed in shrink wrap or a Ziploc plastic bag. Each product intended for infants 3 years of age or younger with an exposed surface larger than 1" x 1" shall be packaged properly to prevent damage during inventory, receipt, delivery to the customer, or preparation for shipment.

3.6 Clothing, Fabrics, and Textiles

Textiles are made of fabric or cloth that can be damaged by moisture or dust. Items should be placed in shrink wrap or a ziploc bag. These items must be packaged properly to prevent damage during inventory, receipt, delivery to customers, or preparation for shipment.

3.7 Jewelry

Jewelry should be packaged in such a way that the unit cannot create an unsafe condition or be damaged by exposing the material during delivery. Each jewelry unit that may be damaged by dirt, tears, liquid, or dust during fulfillment should be packed according to these instructions.

3.8 Small Products

Each Small product whose largest side is less than 2-1/8" in width of the MasterCard will need to be packaged in a polybag with a barcode on the outside of the bag to prevent loss or misplacement. This will also protect the device from damage from dirt, tears, liquids, or dust during fulfillment.

A delivery plan is the schedule of goods you want to ship from China to Amazon FBA. When you're ready to send inventory to Amazon, you start by creating a delivery plan.

The delivery creation tool in your seller account simply selects the items you want to send, the quantity of each item, your delivery process, and whether you want to label and prepare inventory yourself or let Amazon do it for you. The Delivery Creation Tool also provides instructions on how to prepare the shipment, given shipping labels and printable products.

Once you have a shipping plan in place, you can start packing and preparing your items for delivery to your fulfillment center. By distributing your stock in distributed stock placement in other regions, your goods are closer to the customers who buy from you and can be delivered quickly.
